A Far Better Thing by alex51324
Gen, PG-13
Summary: After spending years trapped on a Wraith ship, Rodney McKay escapes and returns to Atlantis. The only trouble is, he's already there.

I'll admit that I usually avoid Gen stories in SGA. I've had bad experiences. :p But the summary intrigued me with this one, and I was soon sucked in to the story.

The narration is smooth and moves you along right through the story, with everyone being perfectly in character throughout. I love the insights into McKay's insecurities and fears, yet the author manages not to overdo it. You get a glimpse of the McKay inner workings, but it doesn't get maudlin or overly teenage emo/angsty on you.

I won't spoil the plot, but I will say that the ending was surprisingly satisfying. The author didn't take the easy way out, which I really thought they were going for for a minute there. As I said, surprisingly satisfying.

If you're a McShep person don't be put off by the Gen rating! It's definitely Gen, but there's enough John/Rodney friendship material to satisfy. So definitely give this one a chance.

Agent Afloat Atlantis by Mhalachai
Author's Summary: Ziva's new assignment certainly isn't what she expected. (PG-13)

I love outsider POV's, and I love crossovers, and this story is both. I didn't think I'd love a story told from Ziva's POV, but this author proved me wrong.

They have an excellent Ziva voice, and to add to that an excellent plot. The reasoning for getting Ziva to Atlantis seems logical, and once there a job that makes sense within the story. She doesn't just arrive and automatically kick ass or fit in, and she doesn't just love it at first sight. It's a gradual fit for everyone, and it makes the story that much more believable and enjoyable.

Here's a list of all the SGA fic I could find that deals with characters being de-aged (turned into kids or teenagers). If you think these should be organized any differently, I'm open to suggestion.

If there are any I missed feel free to leave a comment with a link.
